SmAutomateAI operates smautomateai.com and provides AI call-handling services to businesses. For privacy questions, contact hello@smautomateai.com.
What this site collects
The chat widget
If you use the chat widget, the messages you type are sent to our server and forwarded to OpenAI to generate a reply. Do not enter sensitive personal information, customer records, or credentials into it.
- Your conversation is stored in your browser's sessionStorage so it survives a page reload. It is cleared when you close the tab, and you can clear it sooner by closing the chat and clearing site data.
- Your IP address is read from the request in order to rate-limit abuse. It is held in memory only, is not written to a database, and does not persist beyond the server process.
- If you provide contact details in the chat in order to request an audit, those details may be forwarded to our own CRM or scheduling tooling so we can reply to you.
Booking a call
The booking links on this site go to Cal.com, a third-party scheduling service. Anything you enter there — name, email, and whatever you add to the booking notes — is processed by Cal.com under their privacy policy, and by us in order to hold the meeting.
Analytics and visitor identification
This site loads a third-party script from Leadsy (r2.leadsy.ai), a business visitor-identification service. It is used to understand which companies visit the site. If you would rather not be included, blocking that script in your browser or ad blocker prevents it from loading, and the rest of the site works normally.
Fonts
Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. Loading them discloses your IP address to Google.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard server request logs — including IP address, user agent, and requested URL — as part of delivering and protecting the site.
Cookies
We do not set advertising or tracking cookies of our own. The chat widget uses sessionStorage rather than cookies. Third-party services listed above may set their own storage when their scripts load or when you interact with them.
Why we process this
- To reply to you — where you have contacted us or requested an audit.
- To keep the site working and secure — rate limiting and server logs, on the basis of our legitimate interest in preventing abuse.
- To understand demand — visitor identification, on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding who our site reaches. You can opt out by blocking the script.
How long we keep things
- Chat conversations: in your browser for the session only; not retained by us as a durable record.
- Rate-limiting data: in memory, transient.
- Enquiry and booking details: kept while we are in contact and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted on request.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Email hello@smautomateai.com and we will action it. You do not need to use a particular form of words.
If you are in the UK or EEA and are unhappy with how we have handled a request, you may complain to your national data protection authority.
Who we share data with
Only the processors named above — OpenAI, Cal.com, Leadsy, Google Fonts, and Vercel — each for the specific purpose described. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share enquiry details with other clients or third parties for marketing.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top. Because the list of third parties above is specific, it will change if we add or remove a tool — that is the part worth re-reading.
